Exposed to Solvent, Worker Faces Hurdles


This article discusses the difficulties workers face in proving causality for occupational illness cases in workers’ compensation. Profiling a former tool-and-die worker whose daily exposure to a toxic solvent led to Parkinson’s Disease, the article demonstrates that even where scientific evidence clearly shows links between certain chemicals and diseases workers face barriers to workers’ comp coverage.
