Sam Gold, Injured Worker Activist: The Power of Media to Counter an Abusive Workers’ Comp System

Sam Gold is a former sheet metal worker who suffered two work-related injuries and was faced with a ten year uphill battle to get the treatment and compensation that he needed. He used this experience as fuel to start the National Organization of Injured Workers, whose mission was to provide support to injured workers as well as broadcasting the struggle and mistreatment that these workers were being put through. Although the organization has gone quiet, Gold is still dedicated to helping the movement for workers rights, as well as any individual going through a struggle with their employer.
